New Yakima Valley Winery!

New Yakima Valley Winery!

It’s always exciting when a new winery opens up in the Yakima Valley, but its even more exciting when a new winery offers a truly unique product that highlights the bounty of our valley! Mill Lane Winery specializes in handcrafting fruit wines, with fruit harvested from all over Washington State. They craft their unique wines so that you feel like you're biting into a fresh, delicious piece of fruit.

Dan Ferris, the winemaker, is a 40+ year basketball referee, so he named his wines after basketball terms, such as Breakaway, Two Handed Flush, In Your Face, Buzzer Beater, 3-Pointer and Swish.

One of their most unique wines is “The BIG,” a bold blend of Cabernet and Merlot grapes, high in tannins, full bodied and fruit-forward with the addition of Aronia berries, known to have the highest concentration of antioxidants of any fruit. They actually grow the Aronia berries in the fields next to their tasting room. This wine pairs perfectly with juicy steaks, beef roasts, red sauce dishes and chocolate.

Another distinctive red wine is their “In Your Face” Syrah, a full bodied red wine made with American and French oaks that give it a peppery blend, complimented by the added blackberries; a unique twist that pairs extremely well with steak, spaghetti, pizza and chocolate.

In addition to their tasty red wines, Mill Lane also blends a large variety of fruit-infused wines that highlight the abundance of the fruit that grows in the Yakima Valley and beyond. You will find blends with apple, blackberry, cranberry, pear, peach, blueberry, cherry, plum, apricot, strawberry and even pineapple. They even offer mulled wines, to warm you up on a chilly day.

Their beautiful tasting room has inside and outside seating, perched on top of a scenic hill in the West Valley area. There is no tasting fee, and you can purchase wine by the glass or bottle. Be sure to make Mill Lane Winery a priority during Thanksgiving in Wine Country, and bring home a yummy dessert wine for the Holidays!
