Yakima Transit offers FREE Shuttle Service all ten days of the Fair! Hop on and hop off at the Gateway Center (10 North Fair Avenue). Two pickup points: just north of Office Max on Fair Ave., and in front of the Target store across from the Visitor’s Information Center. Buses leave the Gateway Center parking lot starting 30 minutes prior to the Fair’s opening hours and 30 minutes after closing hours. Service continues throughout the day. Transit begins service at 10:00 am from Gateway Center on opening day only. Drop off at State Fair Park is directly in front of the Deccio Administration Building, and just a few feet away from the Banner Bank Blue Gate.
For those coming from other parts of town and using public transportation, Bus #6 also delivers you to State Fair Park.
HAVE A PLAN!
Make it an all-day experience to get the best bang for your buck. Arrive when the gates open at 11:00 am and spend the whole day exploring everything the Fair has to offer!
Check out the Sundome vendors early before the crowds get too thick. This will give you plenty of time to look at all the goods the vendors have to offer (and sign up for all the free drawings.)
Plan on eating all your meals there… it is “Fair Food” time after all! Diets can wait! You’ve been waiting all year for Lamb Burgers, foot-long corn dogs, Young Life BBQ Beef, baked stuffed potatoes, BBQ chicken and more, so save room to try everything!
Make sure to examine the Fairgrounds map to see where the attractions are so you can save on the walking time.
Use the gondola ride going from the carnival rides to the free concerts on the Budweiser Stage. It’s the easiest way to get to see and do everything!
GET FREE ENTERTAINMENT!
Make sure and plan to attend at least one free concert! Check out who is playing at the Free Concerts on the Budweiser Stage when deciding which day you’re attending.
There’s limited FREE seating area in the Grandstand bleachers, both above & below the Box Seats, as well as lots of standing area! Tickets for all acts will be sold through TicketsWest and at the State Fair Park Box Office. Shortly before each scheduled show, the ticket booth near the Coca-Cola Grandstand will have tickets to sell, unless the show is sold out. Check out what’s coming:

DON’T FORGET A LAST MINUTE SNACK!
Last but not least, make sure to snag an elephant ear or some kettle corn on your way out so you can bring a little of the Central Washington State Fair “Happiness” home with you!
We hope you have a great time “Finding Your Happy” at the Central Washington State Fair this year!
